Stepping into Leadership
In 2007, I stepped into my first leadership role as a lead pastor.
Of course, having the opportunity to help others was deeply satisfying, and the chance to bring all the ideas I had to life was exhilarating.
But if I had to tell the truth—I was terrified!
The weight of responsibility pressed down on me, and doubts swirled in my mind.
What if I failed? What if I let people down?
I felt like I was standing at the edge of a cliff, unsure if I had the strength to take the leap. Unsure of every decision I made, I had no clue what to do next to lead this church to the next level.
And I felt very alone.
Leadership can be an isolating journey, especially when you're expected to have all the answers, yet inside, you’re still figuring it out yourself.

Thankfully, an experienced leader I know introduced me to John Maxwell’s leadership principles, and they transformed the way I led.
Books like The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth and Everyone Communicates, Few Connect taught me how to build trust, communicate effectively, and develop the potential in those around me.
As I committed myself to personal growth and leadership development, I began to see tangible improvements in my leadership abilities.
Studying Maxwell’s resources helped me shift my focus from simply managing tasks to truly inspiring and empowering those around me.
I learned how to build deeper trust, cultivate strong relationships, and communicate with clarity and purpose.
More importantly, I discovered how to develop other leaders, equipping them with the skills and confidence to rise into their own leadership potential.
This personal transformation reinforced my belief that leadership is not a solo journey—it’s about growth, connection, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
Thriving in Multicultural Leadership
Then in 2013, my leadership expanded as I took on a role at Christ For The Nations, an international ministry school with over 300 employees from across the globe.
Here, I personally led diverse teams with members from South Africa, Russia, Mexico, Cameroon, Cuba, and many more countries learning firsthand how leadership transcends culture when rooted in connection and shared purpose.
Later in 2018, my leadership journey brought me to Monterrey, Mexico, a vibrant city of 9 million people.
For seven years, I had the privilege of leading, teaching, and mentoring young leaders from Mexico, the United States, Germany, Japan, Guatemala, and Cambodia as the director of a missions-centered Bible school called Instituto Epicentro.
Working in such a globalized setting has reinforced my belief that leadership is not just about authority—it’s about influence, vision, and the ability to inspire others.
These emerging leaders needed more than just knowledge; they needed a launchpad, a place where they could gain confidence, refine their leadership skills, and build a strong network of peers and mentors to support them.
Identifying the Gaps
Through my experiences at Christ For The Nations and Instituto Epicentro, I began to see a common thread among young, multicultural leaders stepping into their first leadership roles.
They were eager, passionate, and full of potential, yet many of them faced the same struggles I once did—uncertainty, self-doubt, and the challenge of navigating diverse teams.
These emerging leaders needed more than just knowledge; they needed a launchpad, a place where they could gain confidence, refine their leadership skills, and build a strong network of peers and mentors to support them.
That realization became the foundation for Leadership Launchpad—a community designed to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools, mindset, and relationships they need to thrive.
